About Us

A Brief History of

Enyimba Social Club USA, Inc.

— Houston Chapter

The prestigious Enyimba Social Club USA, Inc., Houston Chapter was founded on October 30th, 2005, under the visionary leadership of King Victor Okereke and Queen Joy Okereke, alongside approximately ten other pioneering families. Most of the founding members were couples—husbands and wives—who either hailed from, studied, or worked in Aba, formerly in Imo State and now in Abia State, Nigeria.

The club’s second meeting took place on November 17th, 2005, during which a formal registration of members was completed. Shortly after, in December 2005, the club held its third meeting, which doubled as a Christmas get-together—a tradition that highlighted the club’s strong emphasis on unity and celebration. By January 2006, the fourth meeting marked the beginning of consistent growth and development.

From inception, the Enyimba Social Club, Houston Chapter, has distinguished itself through progressive values. Notably, both husbands and wives are granted full membership status and benefits, unlike in some organizations where women are only considered associate members. This inclusive approach has fostered a unique spirit of unity, peace, love, and mutual respect—true to the Spirit of Enyimba and the club’s enduring motto.
